Why Abermain Hotel just keeps getting better...

Stage two of renovation works at Abermain Hotel are now complete with 10 elegant, yet affordable overnight stay rooms now available upstairs.

Outside, the historic coachman's quarters have also been refurbished to create intimate dining areas for small groups and functions, and inside a unique space complete with dining booths and an array of images showcasing the unique history of Abermain adorn the walls.

Hotelier Jade Smith said the refurbishment of the hotel was going extremely well, with just a few plans left in the pipeline.

"We still want to create a children's play area out the back and an outdoor function area," he said.

"We'll probably start that early next year. There is the potential to do the play area earlier, but we'll see how we go."

The upstairs accommodation includes a variety of overnight stay options, from rooms dedicated to couples, to family and group rooms that can accommodate up to five guests.

"We wanted to ensure the accommodation options would suit everyone from families and groups coming up to attend events and festivals in the Hunter Valley, to couples as well as individuals who may be travelling through the area."

Jade said the other new additions to the hotel were designed to pay tribute to the history of both the pub and the local area.

"The photos inside are all reflective of the history of the area from the hotel itself to the coal mines, the pits, the workers all that kind of thing," he said.

"A lot of people who come here don't know anything about the area, so we wanted to put those images up to let people know just how much history there is here in Abermain."

Likewise, the framework of the original outdoor coachman's quarters has been maintained, while also being refurbished to provide outdoor entertainment spaces.

"We wanted to design those spaces so groups of friends could eat and drink and enjoy small parties or functions," Jade said.

Overnight stays at Abermain Hotel start from just $99 and can be booked via the hotel's website at www.abermainhotel.com.au
