LOCAL WOMEN IN HOSPITALITY SCHOLARSHIP ENTERS ITS SECOND YEAR

Last year's inaugural recipients Katherine Maples, Emily Box, and Stephanie Grace.

AHA Newcastle Hunter will once again champion the future of female industry leaders through its groundbreaking Women in Hospitality Scholarship.

Now in its second year, the program is designed for women in hospitality leadership roles or with high-level exposure to management.

It offers recipients the chance to gain insights into their natural work style, leadership strategies, and industry networking. Unique benefits include personalised coaching, profiling using the HBDI (Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument) tool, mentorship access, and the creation of a supportive network among likeminded women.

Applications for the 2024 intake open on Wednesday, 7 February and places will be awarded to three recipients.

Similar to last year, the program will run for six months and be led by former Solotel CEO and industry powerhouse Justine Baker and author, founder, international business leader and strategy consultant Gill McLaren.

“Following the success of last year’s inaugural program, we are really excited to once again be offering the AHA Newcastle Hunter Women in Hospitality Scholarship program,” AHA Newcastle Hunter President Mick Starkey said.

“There are unlimited career opportunities for women within our industry and this program has the potential to unlock key leadership strategies and help participants become part of the future of hospitality - whether that’s here or anywhere around the world.”

Inaugural participant Katherine Maples said she initially applied with the intention of enhancing her leadership styles but found the program also led to personal growth.

“Collaborating, exchanging ideas, sharing challenges, and collectively growing with these immensely talented women has been instrumental in my personal and professional development,” she said.

“If you're considering applying for this program, I wholeheartedly recommend it".

Applications open Wednesday, 7 February 2024 and will close at 11.59am Wednesday, 28 February 2024.
