Extended trading hours mean you can cheer on the Socceroos at your local live and free...



That's right! When the Socceroos take on Peru -Wednesday, 27 June extended trading hours mean your local pub can show the game live and free from 12am.


And, should Australia make it to Round 16 on 1 July, extended trading hours mean your local will be open until 4.30am so you can catch all the action.


Extended trading hours will also apply to NRL State of Origin - Game Two with hotels able to remain open until midnight on Sunday, 24 June.


Check with your local hotel to find out if they will be extending their individual trading hours.


Extended Hours:

  • Sunday, 24 June - State of Origin Game Two - 12am (was 10pm)

  • Wednesday, 27 June - FIFA World Cup Aust v Peru - 3am (was 12am)

  • Sunday, 1 July - FIFA World Cup Aust v TBD - 4.30am (was 12am) dependent on Aust qualifying



The following conditions apply:

(i) The extended trading periods apply to the sale and supply of liquor for consumption on licensed premises only, and does not alter trading hours for takeaway sales.

(ii) While the extended trading periods override any trading hours restrictions imposed by Council, it does not override any other conditions of consent imposed by Council or special licence conditions under the Liquor Act.

(iii) The extended trading periods do not override any gaming shutdown period that applies during these time-frames.; and

(iv) Venue must have games showing live
